How can I transfer my music from Distrokid to REWAVE?

You can transfer your music from Distrokid to REWAVE without a problem. You keep all streams, playlist placements, monthly listeners and followers. All you have to do is re-upload the song on the REWAVE website with the exact information you used for your Distrokid Upload (Title, Artist Name , Cover, Label Name , UPC code , ISRC code)

Here's an in-depth tutorial:

1. Create an account at rewave.ch

Go to rewave.ch/signup and create an account or login if you already have one.

2. Create a release on the REWAVE website

Click on the top right "Create Release" button.

3. Enter the exact same release data as entered on Distrokid for the release you want to transfer

3.1 Use the exact same title and label name (If you didn't add a label at the Distrokid release you can just put your artist name as the label name on REWAVE). Upload the same cover from Distrokid. In general all the metadata information of the song has to match the already uploaded Version 100%

If you don't have the cover anymore, go to the distrokid website, go to your release, click the magnifying glass and then right click on the image to save it with save "Image" . All Covers need to have a minimum size of 3000px by 3000px , if your cover is too small you can resize it before submitting it on the REWAVE website with this tool

After that you have to go to the second page of the create release site and enter the same data as on Distrokid. Use the same Release date from Distrokid and enter it in the "Original Release Date" field. You also have to copy your UPC code from Distrokid and enter it at the bottom on REWAVE. You can find your UPC code from your Distrokid release under the magnifying glass on the distrokid site on the bottom right. See below (2 images)

After that click "Next" in order to go to page 3. Upload your Audio File. ( If you receive a wrong format error, go to this website and convert your song to WAV 16bit) After your song is uploaded on REWAVE, click edit. Now you have to copy your song's ISRC code from Distrokid in order to import it to the REWAVE website , you can find it here:

Then go to REWAVE and paste the ISRC code at the bottom of the Track edit page:

Click "Save" and go to the last overview page where you can also select your desired stores.

4. Finalization

Submit your release and wait for it to be approved by the REWAVE moderation team. After approval releases need 1-3 days to reach all Platforms. Once your release is live from our end you can take it down from Distrokid
